Al Boasberg (December 5, 1892 - June 18, 1937), a Buffalo native, wrote material for Jack Benny, the Marx Brothers, Bob Hope and more of the greatest comedians of all time.
He wrote 47 movies, numerous radio shows, and directed 12 films in Hollywood.
Because of a "spat," Louis B. Mayer removed his name from the credits of "A Night at the Opera" and "A Day at the Races" two of the most famous Marx Brothers films of all time.
