In accordance with the charter and mission of Buffalo International Film Festival, Inc., we have completed the following activities in 2007:

September 29, 2007 – The First Buffalo Motion Picture History Tour (Organized to bring prominent international members of Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) to the region)
October 16, 2007 – UNESCO World Day for Audiovisual Heritage -- BIFF arranged Common Council Resolution establishing October 27, 2007 as Buffalo’s celebration of the first such event.
October 19, 2007 – BIFFestablished annual celebration and had the first party for the 111thBirthday of founding of Vitascope Hall, world’s first movie theater founded October 19, 1886 by Mitchell H. Mark of Buffalo, New York.
October 24, 2007– First UNESCO World Day for Audiovisual Heritage in Buffalo, New York – Mayor’s Proclamation: The Honorable Byron Brown. BIFF arranged proclamation which made Byron Brown the first Mayor in the world to do this.
October 27, 2007 – First UNESCO World Day for Audiovisual Heritage in Buffalo, New York – Celebration at Ellicott Square Building with recreation of entrance to Vitascope Theater. Presented cake with 111 red candles.
