Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Provides Tickets for Buffalo International Film Festival 2009
Buffalo, NY Tickets for the upcoming Buffalo International Film Festival (October 9-27, 2009) will be sold through the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Boxoffice at Kleinhan's Music Hall and a portion of each ticket price will go directly to benefit the Orchestra.
"While national ticketing services provide excellent service," said Edward Summer, Director of the Buffalo Film Festival,"They are not owned as local businesses in Western New York. It is our mission to benefit the local economy as much as possible."
The arrangement grew out of The Buffalo Film Festival's collaboration with The Buffalo Philharmonic to make the BPO's special showing of Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights" the sold-out event it deserves to be.
"Seeing 'City Lights' with the score played live by a 73 piece orchestra is a once-in-a-lifetime experience," said Summer. "No one should miss it!"
BIFF has arranged to bring in Frank Scheide, America's leading expert on Chaplin to speak at a special event on Friday, October 9. This led to the BPO offering to sell both those tickets and the tickets for the rest of the Buffalo FIlm Festival.
Summer commented "We're extremely pleased to work closely with one of America's finest orchestras in a way that benefits both organizations and the entire region."
The Buffalo International Film Festival is a 501c3 not-for-profit which depends upon tax-deductible donations from busineses and the general public. It was founded in 2003 and has provided world-wide promotion for Western New York.
